dancing with dice
riding a horse on the wind
through the nine &
for the nine &
over nine waves
singing on spiritbreath
spelling a new begin

Note: For the purposes of these runepoems, I randomly select three runes and consider the meanings of each rune as I interpret and understand them based on a number of different resources, which may or may not be in alignment with accepted interpretations. I am a rune enthusiast, not an expert or scholar. These “runecasts” are not intended to be treated as divinatory, although there are elements of personal alchemy and shamanic practice in the crafting of each poem.

breathe with me
spirit me
shatter the shackles
binding me
fill me with your breath
& lift me to the sky
pour your fire
over my life

in each breathe, sing
begin the begin
&
seed the songs
full soulfire
spirit & spell
cry out as the lover
cry out & sing

casting, asking
for a sign hands have
really reached out to me:

upcoming opportunities,
a gift & oaths exchanged
with
a god breathing through
is enough confirmation
for me

verðandi
take my hand
and lead me to
urðarbrunnr's edge
under the vast tree
my sanctuary
sing into me
breath into me
show me patterns
in the tapestry
illuminate me
set my soul
on fire
heal me

Futhark update: ansuz added

©2021 Michael Raven

I’ve revised my interpretations of ansuz (ᚨ) based on additional reference material and inner reflection/meditation. Rune poems and other writing referencing this rune moving forward will use the revised interpretations.

Once all runes have be reworked, I will migrate the old interpretations to the archive to maintain link integrity and for historical references.

primed to walk the path
but find the first step hardest
this time
i gift myself to the

Please do not confuse this for a wyrd reading, there is no divination implied in these rune explorations. However, there is always shamanic and internal alchemy being explored.
