It takes a little effort, but that’s mostly needed to break the defensive habit we’ve adopted in recent years.

I read a book last year about radical self-love and I find that hard to do as well. I wonder if it’s different depending on where/how you grew up? It seems to me we are wired for self-love and radical kindness, but its the cruetly of others that slowly erodes that natural inclination until we are left with shaky self-perservation. What if we all could remain open?
