Odd word (and I’m aware that it has too meanings) when one thinks of a dental/doctor’s practice: you’d hope that they’d be skilled and not practising!
I can relate to this.

I always wondered at that particular choice of words to emphasize. It seems that there might have been better choices out there.

Yes! Detachment is one of those concepts I didn’t quite grasp until my 40s (I’m very late to the party). It’s hard to do!

Actually, yeah, I think most people don’t really grasp it on a visceral level until their later 30s or beyond. I think you need to be forced into it before it really makes oodles of sense and it usually takes about until you are 40+ before you are forced. Most folks, anyways.
