Diamanda Galás | Wild Women with Steak Knives

Halloween memories…

Be aware, this is extreme performance art. Not for the meek and probably not safe for work.

I used to blare this from my window on Halloween at one of the places I lived at. It was amazing how quickly laughter and merriment would evaporate at the sounds Diamanda can make with her opera-trained voice. For those of you who made it through The Serpent and the Rainbow, she was the voice of the zombie bride in that movie, doing something much like this.

    1. After a few hours, it would start to grate on my nerves, so I’d pull out Skinny Puppy, which had a similar impact at the time and is much easier on the ears. Don’t get me wrong, I actually groove on Diamanda, but I have to be in the right mood. 😊

    1. You know… I think I saw something on YouTube a few years ago. It might be worth searching for. Diamanda was never popular with anyone I knew… I was considered very strange for listening to her while driving my friends around. 🤣

I’m glad you had more supportive friends. 😊
