We’ve gotten a European Garden Spider that’s taken up residence by the back door. I get extreme willies just thinking of her (she’s bigger than a quarter), but it’s been interesting watching her consume her web and rebuild it every night. And she moves like lightning.

And they’ve just started their migration into the house. Some swift buggers this year!

They started a bit early this year for us… About two weeks ago we started noticing more. My eldest has taken to capturing and releasing the ones she finds. Shudder.

I’m with you there – mind you, we’ve had cats (and dogs) who have been terrified of spider’s so make of that what you will!

That’s a scary looking spider but also fascinating too! Why are scary things so thrilling to watch from a distance?
