At the seams

Ever feel like you’re trapped at a big family get together, more than a third of your relatives are batshit crazy, and the doors are locked so you can’t leave? Uncle Frank is high as a kite and threatening to set fire to the drapes because he hates the way they look while your Brother George is arguing about the red shift phenomena relative to the universe expansion with Cousin Lucy, willing to use cutlery to make his point? Someone’s daughter, with a name you can’t ever seem to remember has a box of matches while drinking neat from a bottle filled with vodka?

Meantime, you’re embracing yourself and rocking back and forth, madly clicking your heels together with eyes tightly shut and saying something about there’s no place like home.

Yeah… That’s the US in a nutshell today.
