I used to do the same thing as a kid and all the way into my thirties (because we weren’t allowed to cry) until one day I realized I was an adult and it felt really good to cry. Now I cry all the time and I’m unashamed at doing so. Pushing it deep inside made me sick inside. Releasing them is healing.
Such a significant message, Michael and so well expressed!
Everyone can be strong and weak, proud and vulnerable, and I’m glad that this stereotype is being broken. Boys have a right to express themselves and vent it all out. Every child needs to be nurtured with love, irrespective of their mood, status, gender…. Perhaps if we let boys cry and make our girls strong, there would be less crime, less shootings and the world will be a better place.

Can’t help but hear Robert Smith every time I read (or hear) those three (or is it four?) words!

He might have been on my mind yesterday after seeing his response to an interview question about how he’d feel about receiving knighthood.
He said something to the effect of “How dare they presume they are worthy of bestowing knighthood on me. What have they ever even done?”
My admiration went up a few notches when he flicked Vs at the notion of knighthood.

I didn’t see that, but I’m totally with him on that.

I agree it is better to let it out if you can. Some of us can’t, not very readily anyway.
Thanks, Tara. I always value your thoughts.

I have hopes for future generations, but often worry that society is overcorrecting the past.
Time will tell.

All true. I should make an effort to remember how. ✨ Thanks, Navin.
