half moon horizons/

©2022 Michael Raven

is anxiety automatic?
magic and tense tight tragic?

folding words upon words
into endless nights
crushed and black velvet
rhinestone stuttered
flickering toothsome smiles
selling hot sex kitten illusion

panicked, i race down
lonesome highways in
the desert dying hours
froze to the bone
fragile

love-allergic now
temples pounding so

heartless
and without song

drop the blue pill
i want my lethe
like milk from the mother

don't promise me
