within the ash
left of crumbling walls
something stirs
rising from flames
restless & reborn

Note: For the purposes of these runepoems, I randomly select three runes and consider the meanings of each rune as I interpret and understand them based on a number of different resources, which may or may not be in alignment with accepted interpretations. I am a rune enthusiast, not an expert or scholar. These “runecasts” are not intended to be treated as divinatory, although there are elements of personal alchemy and shamanic practice in the crafting of each poem.

  1. Wanted to let you know I’m very happy to see you’re still blogging. I suspect it’s been a rougher year than most — yet perhaps this place provides respite from all of the other crazy. Hope you have a good season ahead.

    1. Thank you, Hezaasan.

You are right on both counts. This year has been extremely rough in terms of dealing with lifelong depression, not to mention my concern for other people I know who have been dealt serious blows in their lives.

For whatever reason, my depression has been slow to ebb this cycle, but I have been pulling out of it the past month or so. Perhaps it is a different mindset, perhaps it is the trip I have planned for mid-January — I’m not certain why. I am merely glad that the darkness has faded somewhat.

When I think about it, writing has always been a great outlet for me. WP is a place where I find greater acceptance than other places, and so writing here has been been helpful for pulling out of that darkness, thanks to the encouragement of several people I have befriended here.

It is good to see you posting once again, yourself. I hope to see more. ❤

      1. Glad to hear you’re finding the cycle turning, as it always turns, albeit many times more slowly than we recall or prefer.

I am also inspired by getting out on adventures a little more lately – my blog is, after all, largely for wandering musing, although I reserve the right to explore other aspects of this wild ride we’re on. It is very nice to have a virtual community to share that side of my world, and I agree about the general accepting vibe here (in particular when you compare it to social media ick).

Upward and onward, as they say.
