  1. Interesting. Surely ‘failure’ is merely a point of perspective – judged against another perhaps our tendency is to choose someone who we perceive as being ‘better’ or more ‘successful ‘ than ourselves, therefore we are predestined to ‘fail’. If judged against ourselves then perhaps our ‘failure’ is simply because we are always trying (subconsciously) to become or show the best of ourselves and always know that there is more. Maybe this is what drives us (in our case to write?).

    • Failure for me is largely from a personal perspective. I judge myself (probably harshly, possibly not) based on personal expectations of what I feel should be my ideal self. Unfortunately, I regularly fall short of those expectations — usually out of my own negligence or stupidity and rarely out of lack of potential to meet those targets.
