vagary – (noun) an erratic, unpredictable occurrence or action; an impulsive or illogical desire; a caprice or whim


As always, feel free to send me your own, preferably with a link to someone reputable (wiktionary, word hippo, dictionary.com, etc.) so I can verify it is a word and the exact meaning. It doesn’t have to be super obscure, but it shouldn’t be part of a normal person’s vocabulary. Bonus points for it being useful and/or fun (I may elect not to add certain words if they are completely devoid of those two elements).
