trees are screaming
branch arm wooden
woad painted bark
arthritic fingers gnarled
reaching for ascension
tree bark war
hey oak ho pine
ash thorn writhes
aeon battles
forever loveless war
twisting worlds
asunder

One thing I really like about your work is the almost musicality to it. How it starts like a chant and suddenly ramps up. “hey oak ho pine”… this really reaches out to me.

Thanks. I used to get preacher sounding when I did spoken word nights. That’s probably influenced my writing in later years.

Thank you. This piece was slightly inspired by vague memories of an entirely unrelated song I worked on with the guitarist from a band I was in back in the 80s. He’d written, “Hey! Ho! Here we go, into the forest darkly,” or something to that effect. We never used it, the song was a wash, but that phrase has stuck with me over the years since.

I annoy followers on occasion with the music I’ve made. Most of it is without vocals because… vocals and I don’t work together well.
Yes, that seems about right.
