I need to get off my duff and start getting some writing practice in for NaNoWriMo. I’ve largely avoided writing fiction this past month or so for no other reason than I’m feeling particularly lazy about the matter, and so I am already starting to get a bit on the rusty side (writing poetry and essays are not quite the same as writing fiction, although they do count aa writing on a daily basis).
In order to get those juices flowing, I’m going to try to write some length of fiction each day for the next sixteen or so days. As another writer I follow says with his own daily effort, the quality of such attempts may vary.
Especially as I plan to improvise each piece.
The challenge, of course, is to find material each day. I’ve been largely turned off by most fiction prompts out there as being too specific, too mundane, or too repetitive. So, I’ll hit my Pinterest “Home” and scroll down until I find a picture that seems interesting to write about. Then I’ll make up some shit probably best left in the darker recesses of my mind and daylight it.
Now that the work helpdesk finally got me up and running with my required stats macros, I should focus on that, but stay tuned (or hide my posts) for the first tale horrifying only because I foisted it on you and no amount of eye- and mind-bleach will wash it away….
